Borivali was initially spelled as Berewlee under the British Raj India. Its also spelled and pronounced as Borivli. Borivali has derived its word from the existence of lot of bushes of the sweet fruit called Borr(Maratha/Gujarati) meaning Berries in English.
Borivali falls in North-West Mumbai. Borivali via Western Express Highway is approximately 18kms from Mumbai Domestic Airport and 14kms from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
